2024 has begun. We've hit the ground running this new year. We've been so busy lately that the monthly newsletter and blog have been put on hold. But that's okay, we're here!
Our very first New Year's Eve in Zarra. At the stroke of midnight, we were in the town square with Melissa's family. We ate 12 grapes with the villagers, wished everyone "feliz año nuevo" - the phrase we had all practiced well before coming to the square - and drank champagne. That was New Year's Eve in Zarra, no fireworks or wild parties. Spaniards celebrate at home with their families. The next day, we were invited to our Spanish mother Rosa's house for a New Year's drink. That was very special. But it was also quickly time to get back to work, as the first tastings were just around the corner.
Our first tasting was at Het Kartonnen Huis. A group of 25 enthusiastic beer tasters gathered in the new bar at the camper pitch. After an evening of celebration, our next appointment was already due. And so more and more followed. We recently found a distributor on the coast. He drives from Valencia to Alicante and even a little further. He delivers our orders; we just have to do the promotion. A good deal, if we do say so ourselves. In January, we were therefore often found on the coast. We made appointments and sometimes just walked into locations.
