If you're thinking of a vibrant village life, Zarra might not be the first village that comes to mind. But believe me, it's been buzzing with activity here lately. Why? Well, we organized our very first King's Day! Complete with a flea market, Dutch singers, and yes, even frikandellen.
But that was far from all that was going on. I myself took a trip to the Netherlands. A trip that wasn't without its challenges, because of course, I missed my first plane. Oh well, that gave me some extra time to prepare properly for the coming days. Eventually, I ended up in Leeuwarden, ready to present the brewery to the students of Communication and Multimedia Design. And what ideas came out of it! From interactive beer coasters to playful marketing campaigns. I can't wait to see what other creativity comes from these talented students.
And then, as quickly as I had landed in the Netherlands, I flew back to Spain. This time for an important moment: a presentation for the Business Club of the Costa Blanca. An opportunity we had to seize with both hands, especially with our crowdfunding on the horizon. It was an honor to stand before this club of Dutch and Flemish entrepreneurs, who have already set up successful businesses here in Spain. It was a successful evening where we gained valuable contacts and perhaps convinced people to invest in the brewery.
After a successful evening, it was time to spread my wings again towards the Netherlands. But this time not for the brewery, but for family matters. Because let's be honest, who can say no to helping her sister choose a wedding dress? And of course, as a bonus, I could also celebrate King's Day in the Netherlands. Double celebration, because my mother also celebrated her sixtieth birthday. And let's just say, we didn't exactly celebrate modestly. A party in the Goederenloods in Goes, surrounded by friends and family. What more could one want?
While I was there, my partner in crime, Bastiaan, with some help from Jaap and Jochem and other villagers, organized a spectacular King's Day in Zarra. And believe me, that wasn't a given. Would the village warm up to our Orange party? Well, apparently so, because even buses from Benidorm came by. Pride is an understatement. Hopefully, we can color the streets orange again next year!
And as if that wasn't enough, we won't be sitting still in the coming period either. A new shop is planned. Besides gift items, we will also sell Dutch products. And guess who will run the shop? That's right, yours truly, okay with the help of Jaap, Jochem, and Bastiaan. The shop will also become my office where I can continue my work for my own marketing agency. And as if that's not enough, the cherry season is also starting again here in Zarra. So besides all the hustle and bustle of the brewery and the shop, we will also be hunting for the best cherries for our cherry beer. A sweet cherry on top of the cake, right?
In short, no day is the same in Zarra. King's Day, the brewery, a birthday, and the shop; it keeps us all very busy. But that's exactly why we love being here: adventure is always around the corner.
